Rome wasn’t built in a day — and neither is a legacy

As Cluster 3 of the Mount Isa World Series Clusters comes to a close, we take this moment to reflect — not only on our results, but on the journey we continue to walk together as a team.

We’re proud to say we reached the playoffs. That’s no small achievement, especially considering how far we’ve come in such a short time. Every player had their chance on the field, and every minute mattered — not just in gameplay, but in building the spirit and unity that defines us.

While some individuals shone through with their talent, we know that true success comes from something deeper: teamwork. Spirit. Collaboration. These values remain the foundation of who we are. Without each other, we are nothing — and that truth shows in every game we play.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to:

Our players — both those based in Mount Isa and those who fly in to represent with heart and commitment.

Our coach — whose experience, dedication, and wisdom continue to shape us.

Our captain for this cluster, Gordon James — for leading with strength and humility.

Our management team and loyal supporters — who stand with us in the highs and the lows, and whose presence makes this journey possible.

Our sponsors — a special thank you to Arrowhead and 3 Kings Mount Isa, two Fijian-owned local businesses that continue to support our team and our community. Your belief in backing your own means the world to us, and your support helps keep this dream alive.

This cluster also saw us take a stand for fairness and transparency. We respectfully advocated to the Mount Isa Rugby Union, not out of criticism, but out of care. We believe constructive feedback is part of how we grow — as teams, as individuals, and as a region passionate about sport. We’re grateful to Mount Isa Rugby Union for hosting such a platform, and we remain committed to supporting the development of rugby across our community.

Above all, we walk away from Cluster 3 humbled and grateful. Every game, every tackle, every lesson — it’s all part of something bigger. And we’re proud to be part of that story.

We want to make it clear — we are here to stay in Mount Isa. Our purpose as a rugby club goes beyond competition; we are deeply committed to helping develop sport in this region. We understand that real change doesn’t happen overnight. But brick by brick, game by game, we’ll keep building — with purpose, patience, and pride.

Thank you for being with us. The journey continues.
